Special Diets and Allergies
Special diets are diets for pupils with a medically diagnosed requirement; not just a dislike of certain foods or food groups. It is our policy to provide a service for those pupils with medically diagnosed food allergies, food intolerances or a medical condition which affects eating requirements.
Please contact the school office in the first instance to inform us of your child's requirements and for further information regarding allergens and special diets.
At Roe Lee Park School we encourage the children to eat and drink healthily and our school meals reflect this. We have a wide range of healthy options available to the children and they select their preferred choice the week before using our unique and very popular menu system.
There are always vegetarian options to chose from and Halal meat is provided by a very reputable company called KQF. We now have HMC certification for the quality of our Halal foods and we are regularly monitored to ensure that we always store, prepare and serve our food to the highest standards.
If you find that you are running short of supplies for your child's packed lunch by the end of the week you can choose to take a school dinner on Thursdays and Fridays only.
School dinners cost £9.50 per week and dinner money is collected on Monday mornings. Please send dinner money to school in an envelope marked with your child's name and class.
If your child wants to move from packed lunch to school dinners or vice versa we ask for a weeks notice as we order our food supplies on a weekly basis.
The menus below show you examples of our current options which rotate on a three week cycle.
