Roe Lee Park Primary School
‘Free to Flourish’
Statement of Intent
Our Mission Statement is;
‘Children, parents, governors and all staff to work together to ensure that everyone fulfils their potential and enjoys a rewarding experience’.
The curriculum is a major feature of the new OFSTED inspection framework with a focus on curriculum intent, implementation and impact. Subject leaders have been considering the intent of their subject with some common threads across the whole curriculum:
At Roe Lee Park Primary School, we aim to provide an inspiring curriculum, nurturing the development of the whole child and in which every child can achieve. The curriculum is designed to: recognise children’s prior learning, provide first hand learning experiences, allow the children to develop interpersonal skills and collaborate with each other, build resilience and become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. Our curriculum is designed to capture the children’s interest and enthusiasm for learning which is engaging, relevant and meaningful.
Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We celebrate and welcome diversity within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by the teaching of basic skills, knowledge, concepts and values. We constantly provide enhancement opportunities to engage learning and believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time in our lives where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. The aim is for the children to eventually leave Roe Lee Park with the confidence and skills to make decisions, be reflective and self-evaluate, make connections and become lifelong learners.
